How can a Chiropractor Relieve Back Pain?

If you are suffering from back pain, chiropractic spinal manipulation is a safe and effective spine pain treatment.

It reduces pain, decreases medication, rapidly advances physical therapy, and requires very few passive forms of treatment, such as bed rest. Chiropractic is quickly becoming one of the best and most widely accepted treatments to provide back pain relief.

Used primarily by Doctors of Chiropractic (DCs) for the last century, manipulation has been largely ignored by most others in the healthcare community until recently. Now, with today's growing emphasis on treatment and cost-effectiveness, manipulation is receiving more widespread attention.

The back is a complicated structure of bones, joints, ligaments, and muscles. You can sprain ligaments, strain muscles, rupture disks, and irritate joints, all of which can lead to back pain.

While sports injuries or accidents can cause back pain, sometimes the simplest of movements — for example, picking up a pencil from the floor— can have painful results. In addition, arthritis, poor posture, obesity, and psychological stress can cause or complicate back pain.

Back pain can also directly result from diseases of the internal organs, such as kidney stones, kidney infections, blood clots, or bone loss. If your back hurts, chiropractic care may be the primary method of treatment. When other medical conditions exist, chiropractic care may complement or support medical treatment by relieving the musculoskeletal aspects associated with the condition.

I offer a holistic approach to chiropractic care designed not just to alleviate pain, but to inspire and educate you on how to become an active participant in your own health and well-being. I want you to have a strong foundation for a lifetime of wellness.

I never push adjustment packages or programs on our patients. These are often designed just to keep you coming for care longer than you really need to.

I spend more time with my patients. It's not unusual for my patients to text me throughout the day with nutrition and health related questions. If you would like to discuss possible treatment options, please contact me at my office anytime.
